Local cattle stud, Gathbodhan Cattle, from Kersbrook, had great success at this years Strathalbyn Show, and showed the Southern Hills region just how good it is in the North.
Taking both Male and Female Champions in the Highland Classes, they then also moved on to the Interbreed section and came home with Reserve Champion Interbreed Male, Reserve Champion Interbreed Female and Champion Interbreed Pair.
Finally finishing the day off as the Most Successful Beef Cattle Exhibitor. What made the day a special one for the breeders was that the bull aged just 9 months old was only taken on the day as part of his ‘breaking in’ process, and yet when placed against the larger and mature Highland, Red Angus and Santa Gertrudis animals, he was able to impress the judges with his growth and weight for age, his structure and free moving confirmation, and his ability to project his future potential as a herd sire.
