On Sunday, June 4th the Lobethal Country Fire Service opened its doors to the local community for the commissioning of their new CFS 24P fire appliance (pictured right), a new SES road crash rescue vehicle and SES salvage and rescue vehicle.
Captain of the Lobethal CFS, Geoff Weidenhofer, welcomed the Minister for Emergency Services the Honourable Carmel Zollo, Mark Goldsworthy MP, invited dignitaries from the SA Country Fire Service and State Emergency Service and guests to the afternoons proceedings. In a weekend of celebration, the Hahndorf Town Band honoured its forbears who established a legacy of musicmaking now enjoyed throughout the Adelaide Hills.

In February, students from the Lobethal Lutheran School were treated to a practical example of what their actions can achieve.
A fortnight earlier, the School Captains, Rebecca Larecki and Samuel Rohrlach voiced their concern at the well-worn appearance of the Australian flag flying from the flagpole daily in the School grounds, so it was suggested that they act to replace it.
