Once again, the Mt Pleasant Show Committee presented an action-packed day on March 21st, 2009. And judging by the record turnout, the 146th Mt Pleasant Show was a brilliant one!
Crowds packed in to see the Shearing Competition and watch the largest field of competitors yet chase Shannon Warnest, last year’s winner. The Lobethal Community Association completed its second roadside clean up on Sunday, March 15, 2009.
The two kilometres of the Lobethal-Woodside Road took the six volunteers just over two hours to pick up roadside rubbish with ten rubbish bags being filled.

Shows have been part of South Australian life since the early settlers arrived. The first recorded show was held in Adelaide in 1840, which started a trend that quickly spread throughout the State. The whole idea was, and still is, to showcase the districts’ best and bring people together.
The 121st Uraidla and Summertown Annual show book is out now for the upcoming show on Saturday February 21st. The book lists all sections and classes that are open to anyone, not just experienced show competitors, in fact, new faces are encouraged.
