Popular Adelaide retro rock ‘n’ roll band, Holly and the Buddies, is set to launch their ‘World Tour of the Adelaide Hills’, when they appear over four consecutive weekends at major Hills events during the month of March.

The band, which regularly plays in and around Adelaide, performs music by famous 50s and 60s recording artists including Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Cliff Richard, the Everly Brothers, Connie Francis and the Beatles.

“Playing at so many major events in the one area in such a short time will feel a bit like a world tour to us”, said Holly and the Buddies spokesperson, Rick Whitehead of Gumeracha.
“So we’ve decided to call it our ‘World Tour of the Adelaide Hills’.

Holly and the Buddies commence their ‘World Tour’ at Crush ’07, the Adelaide Hills Wine Festival, on Sunday, March 11th.

At the festival the band will be performing at ‘Carry On at Clover Hill’ at Clover Hill Cottage in Lenswood.
Event organiser, Annabelle Tilbrook from Tilbrook Estate, has arranged for specially prepared gourmet burgers to be available to accompany the rock ‘n’ roll music and fine Adelaide Hills wines.

On the following Saturday, March 17, Holly and her Buddies travel to the northern Hills for the Mt Pleasant Show, one of the top country agricultural shows in South Australia.
Here the band will get the country folk rocking from 5.00pm.

Following a private function at Camelot Castle at Basket Range on March 24th, the band will conclude their ‘World Tour of the Adelaide Hills’ with a performance in the grounds of the Lobethal Lutheran School for a day of great family fun with the Family Fiesta on Saturday, March 31st.

“By then we’ll pretty much feel like we really have been around the world”, added Rick. “At least we can have a break over Easter to recover!”
