The President, Committee and members of the South Australian Woodside Country Women’s Association are pleased to announce that funds are available now for distribution to a local worthwhile community project.
If any readers are associated with an ongoing community project local to Woodside/Oakbank which would benefit in some way from some additional funding (up to $500 per project) then we would urge them to write to us.
We are particularly interested in groups that are associated with young children and their involvement in reading or learning about the environment and this could be an advantage, but any youth group with an interesting and effective and tangible ongoing community project can apply.

The Woodside CWA welcomes new members to its ranks. This branch has been proudly (albeit quietly) serving the Woodside community for the last 62 years, but we hope we have a young philosophy (and some young members) and welcome women of all ages and especially mothers with children to our meetings (yes, please bring the kids!) which are held during the afternoon on the second Tuesday of each month at the CWA clubrooms, Main Road, Woodside at 1.30 pm.
Our meetings are always informative, quite often with an interesting speaker. We also have educational trips out and an active handicraft group which meets once-monthly where members can receive tuition in arts/crafts, painting, drama, floral art and further education.
Our fund-raising efforts during 2007-08 has raised well over $2,000 for the SACWA State Emergency Aid Fund, a fund to assist people in need and which, as readers will be aware, assists drought-stricken farming families struggling to meet household expenses.
This fund-raising we continue to do. Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 11th at the CWA Clubrooms, Woodside and we welcome our speaker, Mr Ramana Rao, who will talk to us about life in Bangalore.
We welcome all ladies to our meeting at 1.30 pm and to tea afterwards.
